3. Common Installation Errors
3.1 Pinpad offline
The PC system cannot communicate with the pinpad.
Check that the pinpad has power
Check that the pinpad is correctly plugged into the POS
Ensure the COM port selected in the install is the COM port the pinpad is on.
3.2 X0 No response
If there is no response from the bank, it is generally the terminal ID or Merchant ID are
unknown by the bank. Confirm that the details are correct with the bank.
If the details are correct, ensure the modem is configured correctly. The easiest way to do
this isby re-running the configuration wizard. (It is located in the install directory).
3.3 AMEX and Diners won’t work?
These cards require the bank to have a connection to Amex & Diners for your merchant ID
setup. Check with the bank to ensure they have set this up correctly.
3.4 Can’t Access PC-EFTPOS Control Panel
The control panel can normally be activated via the EFT-Client icon on the task bar. If the
POS has disabled this, then you will need to contact the POS vendor to find out how to
access the control panel.
3.5 CNP or PDU Error
This is an error generated by the Argent line, or the Telstra dial-up network.
The most common cause if the POS-AME (Tran$end ID) is wrong. Confirm this number
with the bank and correct it if necessary.
